About the Centre for Teaching and Learning
Reporting to the Office of the Provost and Vice-Principal, our mission is “To lead, support and promote teaching and learning excellence, innovation and scholarship at the University of British Columbia Okanagan.”
The Centre for Teaching & Learning serves all facilities and schools at the University of British Columbia Okanagan. The Centre also provides support for graduate students/teaching assistants, post-doctoral fellows/scholars, and sessional/adjunct faculty.
Faculty Involvement in Centre Activities
All faculty are welcome to drop in to our Centre at any time to discuss teaching and learning. Faculty are encouraged to attend professional development opportunities that may interest them. If you have an area of expertise that you are willing to share with others, the Centre can host a seminar or workshop or we can post your materials on our website.
All professional development seminars and workshops that the Centre offers are free of charge, however it makes life easier for the facilitators and participants if you register for events that you intend to attend.
How to become involved:
- Attend a workshop or seminar
- Join a community of practice
- Volunteer for one of our programs (eg. Open Classroom)
- Present at our Annual Learning Conference in May
- Offer a workshop in an area of expertise/interest
