Scholarship of Teaching and Learning

The SoTL Community of Practice brings together faculty who are curious about investigating and improving student learning. Whether you are new to SoTL or already engaged in a project, this community offers a supportive space to share ideas, explore research approaches, and develop your scholarly inquiry.

The SoTL Community of Practice emerges from the University’s commitment to strengthening evidence-informed teaching and supporting faculty in developing scholarly approaches to understanding learning. Many instructors are interested in conducting SoTL work but may feel unsure about how to begin, what methods to use, or how to situate their questions within the broader field. This CoP creates a structured yet flexible environment where faculty can learn together, receive guidance, and build the confidence and capacity needed to engage meaningfully in SoTL.

This CoP is open to all faculty member at UBC Okanagan. To join, please email riley.petillion@ubc.ca.
