Pedagogical Support
Supporting teaching and learning at the university requires an understanding of adult learning theory, and an ability to connect signature pedagogies to learning goals across all disciplines. Our Educational Consultants use evidence based practices in consultations with faculty to promote effective and innovative teaching strategies designed to improve teaching and learning in the classroom.
Consultations
Upon request, the Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL) provides consultations and workshops for teaching, learning, and curriculum or professional development.
Curriculum Review & Development
The CTL can assist, facilitate or guide curriculum development or accreditation initiatives for any faculty, program or department.
Inclusive Teaching & Learning Supports
The CTL’s Educational Consultants on Inclusion can help you meet UBC’s goal of building a thriving community of diversity, innovation and excellence.
Learning Communities
The CTL facilitates a number of Learning Communities throughout the academic year.
Feel free to contact us if no “official community” exists in an area of interest to you. We will be happy to connect you with faculty that have similar interests.
Workshops (Events)
The CTL hosts workshops, training sessions and other events. See a list of upcoming events as well as recordings of past workshops.
