My role within the team:  I supervise the CTL Learning Technologies team in providing support for faculty and staff, with a special focus on the use and integration of technologies into education. I collaborate with the CTL team members and partners on both campuses to leverage new and existing technologies towards enhancing student/faculty-centered, technology-mediated learning experiences.

My background:  I started out in the AAA video-game industry where I eventually became a front-end product-owner leading the front-end team, enhancing User Experience (UX) and Usability on emerging technologies. The most rewarding projects were learning-based so I opted to complete an MA (with honors) in Learning Technologies and Pedagogy.

Following the video game industry, I led the Learning Technologies team at Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH). During the COVID-19 pandemic, despite the sudden surge in demand for learning technologies, distributed learning strategies, and stress on the health care system, we developed successful programs which were adopted by both VCH and other BC health authorities.

Over the years, my teams’ responsibilities included: supporting educators with learning design, developing software tools to enhance learning, as well as administration of LMS and servers. The core is always the same: The first step in achieving impactful results is to remember the humans we are serving and the most effective means for them to interact with the content and tools!

When I’m not working…  You’ll find me on forested slopes with my dog, inventing hiking trails. Alternatively, with family and friends, exploring innovative art and music shows.
