CTL is exploring the intersection of generative AI and Indigenous knowledge, focusing on cultural appropriateness and collaboration in partnership with Indigenous leaders.
We are excited to host a learning retreat uniting Indigenous generative AI leaders and community to discuss implications in education, fostering collaboration and respect. This is an opportunity to address the gap between digital resources and orally preserved knowledge, which may not be suitable for generative AI to access or share, and to support Indigenous wellness through accurate representation and cultural integrity.
Our goal is to hold space for discussion and feedback around generative AI and how it should properly learn, store, share, and honor Indigenous knowledge.
Panelists will be invited to share how AI supports Indigenous spaces. If you would like to join as a panel speaker or are interested in attending the event, (tentative date November 1, 2024) please let us know by filling out this expression of interest.
