Accessibility Tip | Dyslexia-Friendly Style Guide: Typeface

This month we invite you to consider the needs of dyslexic readers and examine the typeface you’ve been using:

✔ Use sans serif fonts (i.e. fonts without the small decorative lines at the ends of the letters) as they are easier to read. Options include Arial, Calibri, Century Gothic, Comic Sans Open Sans, Tahoma, Trebuchet and Verdana.

Learn about additional dyslexia-friendly choices through the Dyslexia-friendly Style Guide from the British Dyslexia Association.

This month’s Accessibility Tip and resource recommendation was provided by Rina Chua, Academic Integrity Program Manager and member of the pilot Accessibility Community of Practice for staff members in the Provost’s Office.
