Teaching Development Program for New Faculty

The Teaching Development Program (TDP) for new faculty supports UBC instructors in their professional development through a small cohort-based approach. It is designed for early-career faculty who teach credit courses, allowing them to grow and connect with other educators across disciplines in a facilitated, supportive, and accountable space.

Applications are now being accepted for faculty across both research and educational leadership streams. You are eligible to participate if you are early in your teaching career and meet the following criteria:

• Hold as position as an Assistant Professor, Assistant Professor of Teaching, Associate Professor, Professor, Professor of Teaching, Sessional Instructor, Lecturer, or Post-Doctoral Fellow;
• Are within your first 1-3 years of teaching or are transitioning to a new teaching role; and
• Are teaching at least one credit section between May 2026 and April 2027.
