Ready, Set, Canvas!
With the Summer term upon us, here’s a quick checklist to make sure your Canvas course is ready to go:
🔧 Course Setup
- Merge sections? Contact CTL to combine lectures, labs, or tutorials.
- Library Reserves (LOCR): Add your reading list via the Library Online Course Reserves.
- Early access (Optional): Open your course early so students can preview materials.
- Access: Instructors and teaching assistants (TAs) are automatically added to a Canvas course once they have an active appointment to teach in Workday. Please contact your department Admin Assistant if there are any access issues for these roles.
📂 Course Materials
- Re-use content:Â Import materials from a previous course to save time.
- Control grade visibility:Â Consider setting grades to post manually to control when students see them.
- Check your dates:Â Make sure assignments and quizzes have the correct due dates.
- Publish your content: Modules and pages won’t be visible until they’re published!
