✔ The visual presentation of text and images of text has a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1 (ideally 7:1 or higher) for body text
How can you check? There are many online and downloadable tools that allow you to select or enter colour values and provide you with a “pass” or “fail” result on the contrast ratio of text or graphical objects with their background. We like:
- TPGI’s Colour Contrast Analyzer (CCA) (for Mac and Windows; free)
- WebAIM’s Color Contrast Checker (online; free)
