As we wrap up the Winter 1 term and start thinking about our courses for next term, this month’s highlighted results from the Teaching Practices Survey (TPS) focus on course delivery methods.
- In 2023, 71% of courses reported on were in-person compared to 97% in 2018.
- In 2023, 13% of courses reported on were online compared to 1% in 2018.
- In 2023, 10% of courses reported on were hybrid plus 6% multi-access compared to 2% partially online in 2018.
The CTL Teaching Modalities webpage outlines considerations for designing and teaching using all four modalities with corresponding resources. In addition, the Delivery Model Teaching Technology Toolkit highlights recommended tools and tips for a range of purposes, including building community, delivering content, communicating, assessing, and co-creating with learners. The Toolkit also features faculty stories highlighting the tools being used by modality.
