2024 Pan Canadian Report on Digital Learning

The 2024 Pan Canadian Report on Digital Learning was recently released by the Canadian Digital Learning Research Association. This annual report collects data from higher education institutions across Canada and depicts trends of digital learning in our country.

The survey takes place in the spring and fall and the cumulative sample size for 2024 is 637. The report aims to provide “evidence-based insight” on digital learning in the Canadian post-secondary sector.

Of interest to UBC,

  • More technology is expected to be used in post-secondary learning.
  • The delivery mode expecting growth across Canada is hybrid delivery mode followed by fully online.
  • Confidence in faculty skills of teaching with technology decreases as modality-specific technological demands increase.
  • Consensus that GenAI will become a normal part of post-secondary education in Canada within a few years.

The full report is available to read on the CDLRA web site.
