This month we are revisiting best practices on incorporating and describing images.
✔ Do not rely on auto-generated descriptions for images.
These descriptions are often too generic and only describe the appearance of an image and not the functionality.
- For functional images that require an alternative text description, replace the autogenerated descriptions with ones that convey the content and purpose.
- For decorative images that do not require an alternative text description, leave the alternative text description blank (or mark the image as “decorative” if the option is available)
